ILCA
It takes a physical sailor to excel in the Laser. There may not be a better boat to bring sailors around the world together. The Laser may be viewed a simple boat but there is nothing simple about being competitive in this class. While coaching at CNU, Plarr coached Austin Powers and Vir Menon. Menon made two appearances at the ICSA Singlehanded National Championship. Whether starting in the 4.7 or you are a seasoned ILCA 6 or 7 sailor let's hike hard and "S" turn our way to success.

c420
The club 420 is certainly a staple class in the United States. For well over fifty years the c420 has taught thousands of youth sailors how to rig and sail a symmetrical spinnaker and trapeze. During his summers in college Coach Plarr was the head c420 coach at Hampton Yacht Club where his sailors competed on the CBYRA circuit and were leaders in the High Point Championship.

KITES AND KEELS
Considered "short track" racing, the FJ is well suited for the high school and collegiate disciplines of fleet and team racing. This boat and style of racing rewards those who can boathandle with the best. With over ten years of collegiate coaching experience, Plarr is well versed in everything that can help you make these boats go!
It's time for the US to modernize. That's a tough conversation but isn't planing downwind way more fun? The 29er is starting to gain increasing momentum in the US as the doublehanded junior trainer. If you are interested in trying the skiff life we can help. If you already have your own boat then let's plan some training.
Sailing ties people together. It traverses cultures, languages, and age that brings us all a joy that can only be experienced. Wild Child Racing wants to help you on your sailing pathway. There is so much even beyond what the previous classes can teach you. Anyone who has ever been coached by Maxwell will tell you "sailing is like an onion, you need to keep peeling layers."

Proper rigging is all about making your boat and your life easier. Adding a block here or a "T" loop there is about the ergonomics of your boat plus it looks cool and other sailors in the boatpark will be jealous of your skills. Splicing is not as hard as some sailors may believe and at Wild Child we want to help you overcome that common misconception. We are happy to do the work for you but we'd prefer to teach you how to do it. You know the old proverb "give a sailor an eyesplice and he sails for a day, teach a sailor to splice and they sail for a lifetime" ;)
